What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. Browsers also offer local storage, which websites use to remember small pieces of information in a similar way. This policy covers both.
It explains what the Loam website at loam.md uses, and why.
What we use
The Website measures visits with anonymous analytics (Umami, run on our own server). They set no cookie and keep no identifier on your device. The Website does not use advertising, social media or session-replay technologies. You can turn analytics off with the "Send anonymous analytics" box in the cookie banner, and a Do Not Track signal from your browser turns them off too.
The Website stores the following items in your browser:

The company that hosts the Website may set technical cookies of its own to deliver and protect it. We do not control those cookies.
Third-party links
Links to other sites, such as GitHub, lead to websites that set their own cookies. Those cookies are governed by the cookie policies of those sites, which we do not control.
Your choices
- Cookie Preferences. Click Cookie Preferences in the footer of any page to reopen the cookie banner. Closing the banner again saves your choice.
- Browser settings. You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Clearing a site's data removes the choices listed above.
- If you block the Website's local storage, it may not remember your choices, and the cookie banner may appear on each visit.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when the cookies or storage we use change. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page.
